Three of the firefighters are from San Bartolomé de Tirajana
The configuration aims to be autonomous, which is why it incorporates cranes and generator sets.
The Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium has formed a contingent of 20 people, three of them from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, as well as four vehicles, pumps, lighting and generators to work autonomously and not depend on other resources in the work entrusted to them by Valencia.
The Consortium official, Mario Beltrán, has stressed that this autonomy is essential in this type of intervention, so the bilge pumps, which are actually electric pumps, will not depend on the electricity supply from Valencia, but on their own generator sets.

The task has been to carry out pumping work, but if there are cars, and this will most likely be the case, they will have to be removed, which is why one of the vehicles that will leave the Port of Las Palmas this Sunday at 13.30:XNUMX p.m. will be a crane truck with a cargo bed, as well as a light XNUMX-litre pumper truck, a pick-up truck and a coordination vehicle, along with four drivers.
The officer, three corporals and 9 firefighters from the Consortium, as well as the three from San Bartolomé de Tirajana who have joined the contingent, will depart from Gran Canaria Airport, and will carry with them the electric pumps, lighting systems, thermal search cameras and all possible material to join the work tomorrow, while the vehicles will arrive in 48 hours.
It is important to highlight that, although Gran Canaria made its resources available several days ago, like the rest of the islands, it was at the mercy of the Valencian Government, which was in contact with the Canary Islands Government, which had to make the request in order to provide an organised response at this point, whether to join the work or to initiate the necessary reliefs.
