San Bartolomé de Tirajana joins Valencia

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council sends personnel and specialized material to Valencia to collaborate in the emergency work following the recent tragedy

 

In response to the recent tragedy in Valencia, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has arranged for three firefighters from its Fire and Rescue Service to assist in the rescue and recovery work in the region. This team will join the contingent of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, which has also mobilised a team of 17 firefighters with support material for the affected areas.

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana team includes the following specialized material:

 

· 3 bilge pumps, essential for evacuating water in flooded areas and facilitating recovery.

· 2 electrical groups to supply power to affected areas.

· 2 power extension cords and 2 portable spotlights with their chargers to ensure lighting and connection of equipment in areas without electricity supply.

· 3 complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for aquatic rescue without fins, which will allow firefighters to work safely in aquatic environments.

· 3 bags of 20-metre water rescue ropes, essential for rescue operations in hard-to-reach areas.

· 4 rolls of firefighting tape from San Bartolomé de Tirajana (SBT), to delimit and organize intervention areas in emergency zones.

 

The Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has declared: “In difficult times like these, our vocation for service and our commitment to solidarity are evident. Our firefighters are joining with dedication the devices already mobilized by the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium to support the community of Valencia in this tragedy. From San Bartolomé de Tirajana, we want to convey to the affected people our solidarity and our support in this critical moment.”

 

With this deployment, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council reaffirms its commitment to always be at the side of those who need help, strengthening the ties of cooperation and solidarity between regions. This action reflects the responsibility and spirit of collaboration of the municipality, which will continue to be willing to act decisively and efficiently in any emergency situation, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all populations.
