On November 24, an olive tree pruning course was held on a farm located in the area of Lomo Los Azules
In the practical olive tree pruning demonstration, attended by about 20 people, knowledge was provided on training pruning, production pruning and rejuvenation pruning of aging trees, all with the aim of achieving healthy and productive trees. .
The person in charge of offering this practical demonstration was the agricultural technical engineer and olive growing specialist Tanaira Rodríguez Díaz.
The Councilor for Agriculture and Livestock, María Ángeles Rodríguez Vega, stressed the importance of organizing this practical course since in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana there are currently a significant number of olive trees planted. According to the census carried out by the Cabildo in 2013, their number exceeded 14.000.
