The police operation culminated in the arrest of two people and the recovery of an outboard motor valued at more than €8000.
The National Police have arrested two men, with criminal records, for theft of a 40 HP Yamaha outboard motor, valued at more than €8000.
The investigation was carried out in mid-October by the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Documentation, responsible for investigations in the fight against illegal immigration networks, as well as the prosecution of Human Trafficking.
This unit learned through the company awarded the contract, responsible for the surveillance and subsequent destruction of the canoes and pateras docked at the Arguineguín dock, that the engines installed in them were disappearing.

On October 20, following the arrival on the island of Gran Canaria of a cayuco from the coast of Senegal, the police mounted a police operation, which ended with the arrest of two men and the recovery of the engine that had been stolen from the aforementioned boat.
Once the investigation was completed, the detainees were brought before the competent judicial authority.
