Firefighters and emergency services from the Canary Islands are working in Valencia on rescue and search efforts after the passage of the DANA, which has left people missing and serious damages
On October 29, the Valencian Community was hit by a DANA that left devastating floods, significant material damage and a number of missing people in its wake. The intense rains and rising waters seriously affected several towns, where an emergency operation is being maintained to rescue and assist those who are still in critical condition.
Since Monday, a Canarian emergency team has been in Valencia to support rescue efforts and search for missing people. Made up of personnel from the Forest Fire Intervention and Reinforcement Teams of the Canary Islands Government, Tenerife Firefighters, Gran Canaria Firefighters, three of them belonging to San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the team is collaborating with local authorities to mitigate the effects of the catastrophe.

Canarian personnel are working to remove belongings and search for people in homes in Alfafar, one of the areas most affected by the rains. In addition, the intervention teams of the Canarian delegation are operating in different areas, carrying out various tasks, such as searching the Barranco del Poyo, supported by drones provided by the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The Gran Canaria Fire Department and the rest of the team in Valencia have received an emotional gesture of gratitude. A little boy came to give them a special gift: some dedicated drawings in which he thanked them for their work. This detail, simple but full of affection, touched the hearts of all those present and reminded them 'WE ARE ALL VALENCIA'
