The Timple Canario Association in collaboration with the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council has organized the solidarity concert 'El timple con La Palma' that will take place this Thursday, December 2 at the Víctor Jara theater in Vecindario. Musicians from all the islands such as Germán López, Ramón Gil, Sara Bermúdez, Laura Martel and Saúl Camacho will take the stage in a concert whose proceeds will go to the people affected by the La Palma volcano.
The Councilor for Culture and Identity of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council, Yaiza Pérez, thanked the Timple Canario Association “for choosing the Víctor Jara theater to hold this concert, we are very happy to have musicians from all backgrounds in our municipality. islands, in a concert that has the timple as the protagonist and whose proceeds will go to the island of La Palma, to the people affected by the volcano.”
The president of the Timple Canario Association, Germán López, highlighted that “for our association this concert becomes an obligation, because because of our members and the friends we have in La Palma we know of the suffering they are going through, and that is why we want "contribute to those people affected by the volcano."
López announced that “It will be a very varied and complete concert, we will have the first generations represented by Ramón Gil, there will also be Saúl Camacho from La Palma, and David Rodríguez will come from Fuerteventura, who will accompany the little ones with a selection of the students of the timple of the conservatory, something for which we fought so much in its day, for the presence of the timple in the conservatory”
