TUI CEO Sebastian Ebel will be at the helm of TUI for another term. The supervisory board of TUI AG decided to reappoint the CEO at its meeting on Wednesday. The contract of CFO Mathias Kiep will also be extended by three years. The current contracts of the board of management of both companies run until September 2025. The new appointments will be made until September 2028.
Sebastian Ebel took over as Chairman of the Board of Management on 1 October 2022. He has a long career in the Group and as a member of the Board of Management he was responsible, among other things, for the successful hotel and cruise business. He was also CFO of TUI during the pandemic. Mathias Kiep will succeed Ebel as CFO in October 2022.
In his first two years as CEO, Sebastian Ebel focused on transforming TUI both strategically and operationally. The repayment of all state funds from pandemic programmes was completed, management was restructured and operational activities were strengthened. Mathias Kiep was appointed CFO of the international travel group on 1 October 2022. During his tenure, the state Corona aid was fully repaid. Thanks, among other things, to successful capital market transactions, TUI's balance sheet structure was greatly improved.
He and his team prepared TUI's re-entry into the MDAX and made it a success. After nine years, the group ended its dual listing in Great Britain and Germany in June 2024 and has since returned to its home on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Mathias Kiep joined TUI AG in 2011 and was responsible, among other things, for strategy and M&A and, as CFO, TUI Deutschland GmbH.
