The Local Police of Villa de Ingenio, coordinated by the Transport Department of the City Council, has returned to operate this Saturday at the Gran Canaria Airport, due to the high influx of passengers, and has detected several infractions by the taxi sector and Tourist Vehicles with Drivers (VTC) that operated without permits.
The result of the inspection carried out is 9 violations to be processed by the Cabildo for detecting a taxi from San Bartolomé de Tirajana that provided a service not authorized by the platform enabled by the Cabildo for the previously arranged pick-up of travelers and 8 VTCs for not having transfers at the time of being identified. In addition, a complaint was filed against a taxi for operating in areas designated for other public transport operators.
The police operation, in addition to the transportation inspection, enabled a traffic control, responding to the request of the airport management that demanded to intervene to regulate the bad practice of private users who misused the different spaces for loading and unloading, parking and areas for People with Reduced Mobility (PMR). Regarding traffic matters, the result was 2 complaints by Itv to be processed by the DGT and 33 vehicles reported on the upper floor and one vehicle transported by crane to the depot for being parked for six hours on a pedestrian crossing.
