MASPALOMAS24H Thursday, November 21 from 2024

Although the expected storms will be isolated and short-lived, the haze could reduce visibility on roads and affect air quality.

A slight drop in temperatures is expected, with maximum temperatures ranging between 24°C and 26°C, and minimum temperatures between 17°C and 19°C.

The Government of the Canary Islands declares a pre-alert situation for winds and storms in Gran Canaria

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has reported on the weather conditions expected for this week in the south and southeast of Gran Canaria. A combination of partly cloudy skies, the presence of haze and possible isolated storms is expected, together with slight changes in temperatures and predominant winds from the east and south.

Forecast for Thursday, November 21:

The day will be marked by partly cloudy or clear skies, with occasional intervals of medium and high clouds, especially during the first and last hours of the day. There is a possibility of some isolated storms around the island during the early morning. The haze will be noticeable, affecting visibility and air quality.

Temperatures will remain unchanged or rise slightly, except on the east coast, where maximum temperatures are expected to drop. Winds will be light to moderate from the east to the southeast on the coasts, while in the midlands and on the summits there will be a moderate southerly wind, which will ease at the end of the day.

Forecast for Friday, November 22:

During the early morning, there will be intervals of medium clouds that will tend to clear skies as the day progresses. The haze will continue to be present, although in a lighter form. Temperatures will not experience significant changes.

On the coasts, the wind will be light to moderate from the east, while in the midlands and peaks the moderate wind from the south will continue.

Sea state:

On the southern and southeastern coasts, moderate waves are expected with choppy to rough seas. Maritime conditions will be relatively calm, although caution is recommended when engaging in nautical activities.

Storm impact and recommendations:

Although the storms expected this week will be isolated and short-lived, the haze could reduce visibility on roads and affect air quality, especially for people with respiratory problems. It is advisable to avoid prolonged outdoor activities, stay hydrated and check weather updates regularly.
