In the other duel, Almogarén won against Unión Gáldar

Intense emotions at the top of the table. The leader of the First Category, Castillo, achieved a hard-fought victory by 12-11 against a Santa Rita that demonstrated the reason why it will be one of the contenders for the title. Meanwhile, in the other match of the day, Almogarén, which remains firm in second position after the results of the day, also won by 12-11 against Unión Gáldar in a duel marked by comebacks.

El Castillo confirmed its lead in a match in which it had to fight against the tide from the first few minutes. Santa Rita started off strong and managed to get to 1-3 on the scoreboard, maintaining the advantage at 2-4 and later at 6-7. However, the local team showed why it leads the category, showing all its grit at key moments thanks to a great Rayco Santiago who managed to knock Yerover García out of the fight in the third inning.

The solidity of its mainstays allowed for an exciting comeback that culminated in a tight final score of 12-11, after the split between Miguel Reyes and Alberto Zamora, the Santa Rita mainstay who could not beat the Tenerife player after beating Rayco Santiago. This victory consolidates Castillo as the team to beat in the competition and is now six points ahead of its rival.

In the other match in the category, Almogarén had to redouble their efforts to beat Unión Gáldar in a match not suitable for the faint of heart. The team from Gáldar surprised from the start with a brilliant start that put them 0-3 up, but the locals reacted with an impressive comeback that turned the score around to 5-3.

Just when it seemed that Almogarén had the match under control at the Jose M. Hernández ground, Unión Gáldar struck again, with Moisés Pérez in top form, taking the lead 8-10 and leaving everything to be decided in the final stages. However, in a show of character by Álvaro Déniz for the Valsequillo team, he managed to turn the score around again to seal the 12-11 victory and secure second place in the standings.

Thus, Castillo remains the leader with nine points, Almogarén has six in second position, while Santa Rita, with three, and Unión Gáldar, without yet opening their scoring, close the First Category classification.
