A 3-year-old boy was evacuated in critical condition this Sunday after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest in a villa in Anfi Tauro, in the municipality of Mogán.

The incident, which occurred in the early afternoon, was attended to by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands. A medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) was responsible for transporting the minor to a hospital after the intervention of the emergency teams at the scene.

Performance of the intervening services

The minor was rescued from cardiorespiratory arrest thanks to resuscitation maneuvers carried out immediately. The following services participated in the operation:

    • Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC): Activated a medical helicopter, which transported the child in critical condition, and deployed specialized emergency medical personnel.

    • Mogán Civil Protection: Provided support in initial care and in coordinating the transfer from the town to the air evacuation point.

The child's condition is currently critical and he is being evaluated at the hospital. At this time, the authorities have not provided any additional information on the causes of the incident.

The intervention of the SUC, together with Civil Protection, allowed for a rapid and coordinated action to care for the minor. The mobilization included specialized land and air resources, guaranteeing the stabilization of the patient and his safe transfer to the health center.
