The Cecopin of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria has reported that the forest fire in the Cercados de Araña area has been extinguished, following the control work carried out in the affected area.
To put out the flames, two helicopters from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria are carrying out water discharges in the affected area. The fire brigade from San Bartolomé de Tirajana has also been activated to collaborate in the extinguishing tasks.
According to initial estimates by the Cabildo technicians, the area affected by the fire is approximately 100 square metres. Authorities are continuing to work to control and extinguish the fire as quickly as possible.
The General Police Corps of the Canary Islands has also been activated to support coordination and security efforts in the area.
