High-quality local products can be purchased at the stalls in Plaza de La Candelaria on Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st from 9 a.m. to 14 p.m.
The Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair will be held this Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 in the Plaza de la Candelaria in Ingenio from 09:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. promoted by the City Council of Ingenio through the Departments of Crafts, Agriculture and Livestock with the collaboration of the Department of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
The Km.0 Gran Canaria-Ingenio Fair will be its last edition in 2024, having stopped in the municipalities of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Valleseco, Arucas, Moya (Fontanales), Sureste (Agüimes) and Santa Brígida, with the presence, to date, of more than 80.000 visitors and the participation of 310 agri-food producers from all the municipalities of the Island. The Fair's objectives are to boost the local economy, make visible and promote the consumption of local products, encourage sustainable habits and support people who help preserve the landscape.
This edition of the Fair will be attended by 45 producers from 14 municipalities, with 14 producers from the host municipality. Thus, from the town of Ingenio, the following producers will participate: Almendreros de Guayadeque, Panadería Artiles, Floristería FERGAR, Leche Sandra, Cogrami, Pastelería Ina's Cakes, Pastelería Dulce Mari, Anfraplant, Flores y plantas José Miguel Hernández, Trabel, Especias del Chef Henri, Sal de Canarias, Canaturex and Quesería Mansueto.
This year, the Fair is complemented by several parallel initiatives. On the one hand, the Ingenio Town Council is organizing an exhibition in which 13 artisans from the municipality will participate. This is joined by a program of guided tours of the historic center of Ingenio and a gastronomic promotion program in which several restaurants from the municipality will participate, which will serve the traditional “Ingenio bread soup” this weekend. The restaurants participating in this initiative are: Face to Face, Taberna La Candelaria, El Cumbrero, Sociedad de Carrizal and Ca' Gonzalo. In addition, in the Plazoleta de San Blas there will be live music at 12:00 noon on both Saturday and Sunday.
