A woman has lost her life after being run over by a pick-up truck in the well-known Playa del Inglés. The incident took place at 12:30 p.m., according to information provided by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government.
At that time, the CECOES received a call alerting that a person had been run over by a Pick Up on the beach and needed urgent medical assistance. The necessary emergency resources were immediately activated, including a medicalised ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Beach Rescue Service of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Council and the Local Police.
The Beach Rescue Service personnel were the first to attend to the victim. Upon arrival, the SUC paramedics confirmed the woman's death due to the injuries sustained in the accident.
For its part, the Local Police was in charge of preparing the corresponding report to clarify the circumstances of the event, which supposedly, the vehicle involved would be linked to the service of one of the kiosks.
