More than 1.000 businesses in Gran Canaria will have access to practical tools to boost their digitalisation
The Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria is developing the project “Assistance and Tutoring in the Digital Transformation of Commerce in Gran Canaria”, with funding from the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed Workers of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption.
The main objective of this program is to enhance the competitiveness of local commerce through digitalization, allowing it to adapt to the challenges and opportunities posed by the current market.
The project aims to raise awareness among companies about the benefits of digital transformation, highlighting the importance of incorporating technology into their business models. It also seeks to offer personalized advice to facilitate the adoption of digital solutions.
Within the framework of the project, the Chamber of Commerce has carried out various activities aimed at promoting the digitalisation of local commerce.
An awareness campaign was started on the changes that need to be made, the advantages and digital tools that need to be used, such as ERP, CRM, digital marketing and e-commerce, through promotional videos and social networks.
To date, a total of 30 businesses in Gran Canaria, from different sectors and from nine different municipalities on the island, have received personalized diagnoses and specific roadmaps that have allowed them to draw up a clear plan for their digital transformation. In addition, individualized advisory actions have been carried out that have allowed these companies to optimize their internal processes and adopt technological tools adapted to their context.
As part of the program, two webinars were held focused on training in key digital strategies for SMEs and micro-SMEs, which were attended by nearly a hundred entrepreneurs. These sessions addressed key topics for digital transformation, such as the benefits of artificial intelligence in the commercial sector, the importance of a presence on social networks and the creation of a solid brand to connect with customers through various platforms, as well as cybersecurity and the protection of business information.
The webinars featured success stories from participating companies in the program that have already implemented advanced technologies, highlighting how these solutions have allowed them to optimize their processes and improve the management of their establishments.
Another of the project's most important achievements has been the creation of a Guide to Good Practices for Digital Transformation, created to serve as a practical reference based on the experience acquired through the advice provided to businesses. This guide will be sent to more than 1.000 businesses participating in the Chamber's programs and will be available on its website for all interested parties.
The impact of the project is evident in the improvement of the adaptation and modernisation capacity of the participating companies. In addition, it reaffirms the commitment of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, through its Department of Domestic Trade, to support the commercial sector in its digitalisation process.
