The industrial employers' association of the Canary Islands, Asinca, the same one that accused those who opposed the Aiem tariff shielding of imports before the European Commission (EC) of spreading fake news, has not voted in favour of maintaining activity in Puertos Canarios, according to information obtained by Maspalomas24H from business sources. The cement company Ceisa, owned by the Asturian group Masaveu and the Brazilian Votorantim, is a partner in the financial programme 'Made in the Canary Islands' to justify blocking foreign imports by making imports from its competitors more expensive. The decision was taken without any votes against and is legally supported and only affects the use of the port, not the land occupied by the cement factory, which is outside the public domain.
In a crazy statement, Ceisa has avoided analysing the vote of the employers' association to which it pays dues against its interests and has labelled the agreement of the Puertos Canarios council with "" as if they were not official. The company, which has had the support of UGT and Intersindical Canaria until now, is left alone although it assures that it will go "to the end" with what it has called "this matter". Unanimously, the council representatives also showed their rejection of the "external pressures received" to try to condition the direction of their vote in the El Pajar file.
The company itself considers itself a "victim of an arbitrary political decision" which, it says, "only seeks to satisfy the voracious interests of certain" members of the tourism business community, who have "focused on the area where the factory is located." The decision was passed without any votes against.
