The Councillor for Housing, Lucía Jiménez, together with the First Deputy Mayor, Alejandro Marichal, have held a meeting with the residents of Las Llaves to inform them of the completion of the drafting of the urban regeneration and renewal project for the development (ARRU). This ambitious plan seeks to improve the quality of life of residents through a comprehensive intervention in the homes, common areas and accessibility of the development.
The project has a total investment of 5.710.710 euros, financed by various public administrations as well as by the owners of the houses; so that the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, 2,1 million; the Government of the Canary Islands 2,2 million, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria 946.000 euros; the Government of Spain, 363.200 euros; and the owners contribute with 99.800 euros.
The execution of this project, which includes the rehabilitation of the two phases, will initially focus on urgent accessibility interventions and essential structural improvements in the buildings. Subsequently, the renovation of facilities, pavements and the rehabilitation of common areas will be undertaken. As explained by the Councillor for Housing, Lucía Jiménez, “theThe works will basically consist of rehabilitating the structure of the buildings, the facades, as well as waterproofing the roofs, renovating the sanitation and electricity, changing the lighting and pavements inside the developments, and above all improving accessibility by installing ramps and elevators in all buildings.".

These improvements will not only increase the quality of life of residents, but will also promote coexistence and social well-being in a renovated and sustainable environment.”
The start of the works is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025 and will last for an estimated period of 22 months. In this way, next year the urban rehabilitation works of the Ifa Group, Santa Águeda and the 106 homes of El Castillo will begin, at the beginning of 2025 and Las Llaves, at the end of the same year, thus improving these urbanizations in which more than 750 families reside.
