More than 550 seniors from San Bartolomé de Tirajana enjoy the traditional Christmas dinner in Maspalomas

The magic of Christmas was once again experienced by the elderly in the municipality at the long-awaited Christmas Dinner, organised by the Department of the Elderly of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Hall. The meeting brought together, in the Aeroclub restaurant, more than 550 people from all the neighbourhoods and towns of the municipality, reaffirming the commitment of the council “with our elderly and with the construction of unforgettable moments that reinforce coexistence, socialisation and fun, whatever our age”, explained the councillor for the area, Dimas Sarmiento.

 

At 19:00 p.m., the buses arrived at the restaurant, where the municipal authorities, headed by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez, First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal and Councilor for Mayor Dimas Sarmiento, warmly welcomed each of the attendees. This gesture symbolized the spirit of closeness that defines the municipality, kicking off a night full of emotion and recognition.

 

 

 

Before starting the dinner, Dimas Sarmiento dedicated a few words of thanks to the team of the Council for their effort in organizing the event and congratulated all those present on the holidays, expressing the wish that “next year we will all see each other here again.” For his part, Alejandro Marichal, First Deputy Mayor, highlighted the work carried out by the council, “thereby reaffirming its commitment to continue organizing activities that promote unity and participation of our elders, who with their experience and effort have forged the identity of our municipality.”

 

The evening continued with a dinner that was full of gestures of camaraderie and shared joy. One of the most eagerly awaited moments was the raffle, which gave away more than 40 prizes and gifts generously donated by local companies. From Christmas baskets to hotel nights, beauty treatments, cosmetics, household appliances or large baskets with Christmas products, the gifts were received with enthusiasm and gratitude. To close the night, the music of Estrella Latina invited the attendees to dance, turning the event into a true celebration that lasted until midnight.
