Board members highlight internal management and the execution of projects for the modernisation and improvement of Maspalomas

Dynamic Procurement System will accelerate transformation projects by 2025

The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium, an institution owned by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Council, has held its last governing meeting of the year to evaluate the work carried out over the last 12 months.

The session has made it possible to highlight the intense work carried out by the administrative entity in the management and execution of projects focused on the modernisation and improvement of the tourist city of Maspalomas.

The members of the Governing Board have positively valued the work carried out during the last year, highlighting the internal organisation that the Consortium has implemented as a key element in responding to the challenges of transformation and development of Maspalomas Costa Canaria.

In addition to the actions it is carrying out this year, the Consortium has provided significant technical support to the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, by committing to preparing a study of the economic return of the 2025 International Carnival - which will be held from March 18 to 30 -, assisting in the drafting of technical reports and reviews of works requested by the council, as well as collaborating with municipal technicians and the Energy Council of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, to define the projects planned for the next year.

The entity, which is part of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the local government, has also participated in several initiatives that are currently in the evaluation and planning phase.

In this way, the overall assessment of the coordinated work and the strategic vision of the administrative entity, which this year has located its headquarters in the Sonneland Shopping Centre, have contributed to strengthening the capacity of the municipality to carry out improvements in its infrastructure, services and tourism promotion, in line with the current needs of the area and with the development objectives set.

Dynamic System to boost the transformation of Maspalomas

Over the next 12 months of 2025, the Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium will implement a Dynamic Procurement System (SDA) that will streamline and improve the execution of the different projects that the administrative entity will promote.

This mechanism, in which more than 36 companies have applied to participate, in seven categories, including projects, construction management and health and safety coordination services, among others, will represent an important step forward and, as the entity points out, “necessary” to undertake the transformation of Maspalomas, positioning it as a tourist city of reference.
