Infecar hosts, from December 26 to January 4, this festival full of fun and educational activities for the whole family
The event reinforces its social commitment by collaborating with the Las Palmas Food Bank through a large collection of basic necessities.
Infecar, Gran Canaria Fair, is preparing to once again host the most eagerly awaited event for the island's children. From December 26, 2024 to January 4, 2025, the 24th edition of Planeta Gran Canaria will turn the fairgrounds into a magical and fun space full of recreational and educational activities to share with the family.
Once again this year, “Planeta Gran Canaria becomes a space for leisure, enjoyment and meeting during the Christmas period for families and children on the island of Gran Canaria; we hope that you come to spend not only some time of educational leisure, but also of learning values and solidarity”, said the Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, during the presentation of the new edition of this festival, in which students from two sixth grades of Primary School from the CEIP José Pérez y Pérez de La Feria also participated.
As explained by the director of Infecar, Natalia Santana, “Planeta Gran Canaria will offer a wide range of activities divided by themes into six large areas”, which include outdoor activities, such as bouncy castles, a bicycle circuit or the traditional parade, and in several pavilions and in the Congress Palace, where plays will be performed. In all the spaces, the children of the island will be the main protagonists: Planeta Desafío, with attractions that test the skills of the participants; Planeta Luz y Color, with theatrical and musical shows; Planeta Diversión, an area with inflatables and workshops; Planeta Recreo, with sports and artistic activities; Planeta Digital, dedicated to video games; and Planeta Aventura, which includes playrooms and themed spaces.
The Festival will also have an Inclusive Planeta, and the organisation has taken into account various aspects to meet the needs of children and young people with ASD, General Developmental Disorder or other special needs. Every day, between 10:00 and 11:00 and between 15:30 and 16:30, the lights and music will be dimmed so that people with sensory impairments can enjoy Planeta Gran Canaria. In addition, entry will be facilitated for people who prove their disability and they will have priority in the use of activities and attractions. They will also have preferential seats to enjoy the theatre shows and requests for interpretation in Spanish Sign Language will be attended to.

In addition to the six main planets, Infecar has organised a series of parallel activities, including special sessions with Timba Vk and Mondongo, popular YouTubers who will meet with their fans on 3 and 4 January at 12.00 noon. Those interested must pay a special entrance fee of 6,50 euros, which gives access to Planeta Gran Canaria in general and to the show.
On the other hand, this year, Planeta Gran Canaria is strengthening its social commitment by collaborating with the Food Bank of Las Palmas. Throughout the festival, a large collection of basic necessities will be held to support the most vulnerable people on the island. “The solidarity aspect of Planeta Gran Canaria is a constant,” said the councillor, who invited attendees to “leave a non-perishable product at the entrance to Infecar to collaborate” with this initiative.
The event, which will only close its doors on December 31, will also have a large catering area, where 12 food trucks and stalls will offer a varied gastronomic experience to attendees during opening hours, from 10.00:20.30 a.m. to 1:XNUMX p.m. (except on January XNUMX, when it will only be open in the afternoon).
Tickets are already on sale on the planetagrancanaria.es website, and can also be purchased at the venue's box office for a general price of 5 euros. Children under three years of age, unemployed people, pensioners and disabled people can attend the festival free of charge, which also includes discounts for the purchase of several tickets: for groups of 4 people, entry will cost 4,00 euros per person, while with the pack of 10 tickets, each person can enter the venue for a price of 3,50 euros.
Planeta Gran Canaria is promoted and financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, and organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria. It is also sponsored by the Disa Foundation, Isola, El Corte Inglés, and with the collaboration of Cajasiete, the Food Bank of Las Palmas, the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria and El Paraguas Events.
