Together with the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands, it highlights the importance of supporting local businesses during these holidays
The Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands, launches a campaign that highlights the need to promote consumption in local businesses during Christmas, reminding citizens of the positive impact of supporting these businesses during these very special dates.
In addition, the local identity is reinforced, as a space for meeting and creating a community, which generates a close relationship between customers and merchants, the diversity and variety of products they offer us. Local commerce, the driving force of the Christmas economy The central message of the campaign is clear: choosing local businesses not only benefits small business owners and workers on the island, but also contributes to strengthening the local economy. In addition, it strengthens social ties and promotes a sustainable economic development model.
"Every purchase made in a local business is a direct support to the entrepreneurs, merchants and employees of our island, who, in turn, reinvest in the community, generating employment, stability and a more balanced economic growth," said the general director of Commerce and Consumption, David Mille. In this regard, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Luis Padrón, said: "Campaigns like this help to raise awareness among consumers about the importance of local commerce, responsible consumption and the need to keep our commercial network open and productive, which continues to populate the streets of our municipalities, especially in light of the growth of electronic commerce and taking advantage of the opportunities of shopping tourism."
A campaign with a lasting impact
With this message, the campaign not only seeks to encourage Christmas shopping, but also to raise consumer awareness about the long-term benefits of supporting local businesses. Supporting local businesses strengthens the economic and social fabric of our island, creating jobs and promoting greater community cohesion.
