Carlos Álamo, Gran Canaria's Tourism Councillor, will focus his agenda at Fitur 2025 on highlighting the recent improvements in Maspalomas and strengthening the confidence of investors and tourism companies throughout the south of Gran Canaria. One of the axes is the implementation of the Coastal Accessibility Plan, which provides the beaches in the area with new ramps, walkways and adapted footbaths, facilitating access for all visitors. These improvements not only raise the quality of the tourist offer, but also reflect the island's commitment to inclusion and sustainability.

With an investment of 980.000 euros, the project includes the improvement of 27 platforms spread along the coast of the tourist area, which represents a drastic change in the accessibility of the beaches of Maspalomas. These initiatives reflect the region's commitment to promoting inclusive and quality tourism, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the sea and the sun without restrictions.

Álamo will also highlight the modernisation of infrastructure in Maspalomas, including the renovation of promenades and the improvement of public services, with the aim of offering a more comfortable and safe experience to tourists. These investments seek to attract a visitor profile that values quality and excellence in the destinations they choose, thus strengthening Gran Canaria's competitiveness in the international market.

In front of investors and tourism companies, the councillor will reaffirm the commitment of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria to sustainable development and innovation in the sector. He announced plans for future strategic investments that will further boost the tourist offer of Maspalomas, fostering an environment conducive to public-private collaboration and guaranteeing balanced and responsible growth of tourism in the region.

Maspalomas' beaches are undergoing a significant transformation to improve their accessibility and ensure that all visitors can fully enjoy its natural charms. The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium has launched the Coastal Accessibility Plan, which includes the installation of new ramps, comfortable walkways and adapted footbaths on beaches such as Meloneras, Las Burras and San Agustín.

These improvements seek to eliminate architectural barriers, facilitating access to both the walkways and the bathing areas for people with reduced mobility. The works have been designed to interfere minimally with the walkways, guaranteeing the safety and comfort of residents and tourists. In addition, the shower and footbath services have been renovated to adapt them to the needs of all users.
