The SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote our sport, culture and traditions. Along these lines, the group has reinforced its support for the Canarian wrestling club CL Unión Sardina. The renewal of this sports sponsorship is a clear example of the chain's commitment to initiatives that promote healthy lifestyle habits.
The agreement was renewed by the technical team and the board of directors of the club together with the president of SPAR Gran Canaria, Ángel Medina; the vice president of the chain, José López; and the businesswomen associated with the chain, Sonia Ortega and Noelia Ortega, who were also accompanied by the councillor for Physical Activity and Sports of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Julio Jesús Ojeda.
The club is made up of 68 wrestlers, aged between 5 and 43, who will compete this year in various categories in the Cabildo de Gran Canaria League, the Fundación Obra Social La Caja de Canarias Cup, the ABT Canarias League and the Dielca Tournament.
Convinced of the importance of combining a healthy diet with physical exercise, SPAR Gran Canaria follows the line of Sustainable Development Goal 3, set by the United Nations, supporting initiatives that promote sport and healthy lifestyle habits through sports sponsorships. These include sponsorships of the I+I (Ilusión + Inclusion) team of the Panadería Pulido Vega de San Mateo football club, the players of the CB SPAR Gran Canaria women's basketball club, the CF Femarguín SPAR Gran Canaria women's football team, the youth teams of CD Valdecasas, the SPAR Guerra del Río Latin sailing boat and UD Las Palmas.
