The Pain Unit at San Roque University Hospitals in Maspalomas has opened its doors in collaboration with Grupo MIVI Salud with the aim of alleviating the pain of patients by addressing their needs, taking into account the pathologies and particularities of each area of the body. The unit will have an intervention room and consultation rooms, with a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Jesús de Santiago Moraga, a specialist in Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Treatment with more than a decade of experience.
MIVI Salud brings its experience to offer patients a comprehensive and up-to-date approach to the treatment of chronic pain, treating all types of patients with chronic ailments, post-surgical ailments, circumstantial ailments caused by certain types of injuries or pathologies and patients with oncological processes to improve their quality of life. The most common pathologies treated in the pain unit are diverse such as headache, neck pain, shoulder pain, elbow and wrist pain, back pain, lower back pain, pelvic and hip pain, knee pain and ankle and foot pain.
Pain has gone from being a symptom to becoming a disease with its own complexity, which is why “it is a priority for health to respond to this need: “to have a life without pain”. Now, residents and foreign citizens in the south of Gran Canaria, in collaboration with the rest of the medical specialists at San Roque University Hospitals, can use this service so that they can have a fuller life.
