The budget execution monitoring measures continue to bring good news to the south of Gran Canaria. The Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, under the direction of Pablo Rodríguez, has authorized a grant of 712.000 euros to the Mogán City Council to finance the project in the degraded area of La Charca de Arguineguín and Barranco Pino Seco. This project focuses on the rehabilitation of housing and the improvement of the living conditions of the area.
With this action, the Canarian Executive seeks to promote the social inclusion of the affected people and cohabitation units, facilitating access to decent and adequate housing. The initiative is part of the aid programme for the eradication of degraded areas, shanty towns and substandard housing contemplated in the State Housing Plan.
The properties will be intended for groups with greater difficulties in accessing the real estate market. The annual income of all the people who make up the cohabitation unit must not exceed three times the IPREM at the time of signing the corresponding lease or transfer of use contract.
Within the Canary Islands Housing Plan, the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) is currently developing three projects in Telde that will allow the construction of more than 70 homes, and two projects pending approval in La Capellanía, Ingenio, and 13 in Santa Lucía de Tirajana. In addition, the Executive has completed the works on 16 public housing units in El Cristo, Ingenio, and 31 units in Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
