Fitur 2025: Bueno manages to get Mogán 25 million in investment from Princess and Hotelera Playa de Amadores

The Ministry of Finance confirmed this Monday Maspalomas24H that the investments facilitated to the private sector by the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno (OBU), already have legal coverage of the European incentive program of the Feder. Only in two complexes are investments that add up to 25 million euros and direct job creation among the residents.

The tourism business has one of the most profitable areas in the Canary Islands in Mogán due to the presence of Nordic tourism, which has a stronger currency such as the Norwegian and Swedish crowns, and the British middle and upper class market, which is very loyal to the south of the island of Gran Canaria. The Mogán Town Hall has facilitated the entire process, offering a favourable environment for investment and streamlining the bureaucratic procedures necessary for the remodelling and expansion of the hotel complex.

In Mogán, the Catalan chain Princess will invest 17,5 million euros in its complex with 4,5 million euros of European aid and the creation of 15 jobs. Hotelera Playa de Amadores will invest 7,4 million euros in Puerto Rico with an official aid of 2,2 million euros and the creation of two jobs. Another company that buys products and services from suppliers in the south of the island, Anjoca, with its tax headquarters in Vecindario, is going to invest 70 million euros in a hotel project in La Oliva with 170 jobs and for which it has obtained aid of 28,1 million euros.

In the case of the Amadores project, the Mirador del Atlántico hotel began a renovation in 2024 with an investment of 4,5 million euros, which will allow it to be upgraded to four stars. The reopening is scheduled for 1 November 2025. This complex, which has 116 rooms, is located on Amadores Beach.

The Sarmiento Aguiar family, owners of the hotel, will expand its services with at least thirty suites with private pools. This investment will be managed through Hotelera Playa de Amadores with Rubén Sarmiento Aguiar as sole administrator and his siblings Roberto, Nuria and Juan. In 2021, the company recorded sales of 2,12 million euros, with a net result of 740.405 euros and 56 employees. In 2019, revenues were 6,45 million euros and in 2020 they reached 2,23 million euros.

The company also owns another establishment, the two-star Ocean Hill Adults Only hotel with 156 rooms in Puerto Rico. This complex was acquired in 2015 and renovated in 2016. The company highlights that, although it has a two-star category, its services are closer to four-star. The Mogán Town Council has been fundamental in facilitating the necessary investments for these improvements, working closely with the company and tour operators focused on Nordic and British clientele.
