National Police foil attempt to smuggle drugs into Las Palmas II prison and arrest a woman

The arrested woman, 65 years old, intended to introduce the narcotic substances taking advantage of a family communication with an inmate

The drugs were intercepted by National Police officers and prison officials before the encounter took place.

The detainee was seized with 29 grams of hashish and 9 grams of heroin, equivalent to (180 doses)

 

National Police officers have arrested a 65-year-old woman with no criminal record in San Bartolomé de Tirajana for drug trafficking.

 

The agents learned from various investigations that a woman intended to transport and introduce narcotic substances into the Las Palmas II Penitentiary Center, and take advantage of a 

communication with an inmate at the center, apparently his son, to give them to him.

 

The police operation, made up of agents from the National Police of the Local Police Station of Telde together with prison officers, on the afternoon of January 16, managed to identify and intercept the woman before the encounter with her son took place.

 

The investigation was fruitful and after the corresponding superficial search of the arrested person and her belongings, 29 grams of hashish and 9 grams of heroin were seized, equivalent to a total of 180 doses.

 

For these events, she was arrested for drug trafficking, and once the police proceedings were completed, she was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
