The last time to apply is 15 p.m. on the Friday before the election, i.e. February 00. In exceptional cases, such as a sudden illness, the application can also be submitted up to 21 p.m. on election day. To apply for postal voting documents, your surname, first name, date of birth and residential address are required. If you are applying on behalf of another person, you will need a written power of attorney. In this case, the application can only be made in person or in writing.
Voting by mail is possible from the south of Gran Canaria. Under certain conditions, this also applies to German citizens living abroad and not registered in Germany. To do so, you must submit an application for registration in the electoral register of the relevant municipality before the election. The application must be received no later than the 21st day before the election (2 February 2025). The application can be sent now. Please make sure to send your election letter in time so that it arrives no later than 18:00 p.m. on election Sunday. For shipments from non-European countries, airmail with a priority label is recommended.
