San Bartolomé de Tirajana approves its 2025 Budget: 104 million for the municipality

MASPALOMAS24H Thursday, January 30, 2025

The plenary session of the Corporation also approves the internal operating regulations of the Occupational Center and the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Department of Social Services for this year

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has already fully approved its 2025 General Budget since this Thursday. The economic allocation, which amounts to almost 104,2 million euros, some 6 million more than in 2024, was definitively validated by the governing group and without the support of the opposition in the plenary session corresponding to this month of January, where the municipal government chaired by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez also resolved to reject the three allegations that were presented against the Budget during the public exposure period by the political spokespersons of the PSOE, NC and Hablemos Ahora.

At the same meeting, the Corporation decided to give its unanimous initial approval to the regulatory update of the internal operating regulations of the municipality's Occupational Centre and its services as an occupational centre and as a day centre with a need for a third person. The regulations are mandatory for all staff providing services at the Centre and also for its users and their representatives, both within the facilities and during the use of the complementary transport and dining services, on organised excursions and outings, and also in those complementary activities carried out under the responsibility of educators, parents, legal guardians or contracted staff. After this approval, the document will be published on the Town Hall notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province to publicly inform and give a public hearing to those interested for a minimum period of 30 days for the presentation of suggestions and complaints.

Political Assignments

The plenary session of the Corporation also unanimously approved the introduction of a modification to the basis 46 of the execution of the general Budget of the City Council for this year 2025, to enable the allocations to the political groups with municipal representation to be paid annually and not half-yearly as until now. In any case, given that these allocations have the nature of public subsidies by a ruling of the Court of Auditors of 2011, the political groups are obliged to justify their expenditure. The fixed economic amount allocated to each group is 200 euros per month, while for each councillor of these groups the amount is 150 euros per month.

Emergency grants

In addition, the corporate plenary session also unanimously agreed to approve the Department of Social Services' strategic subsidy plan for 2025 and its line of attention to social emergency situations, streamlining its management and administrative processing, and supporting social projects to assist people in situations of economic vulnerability, social exclusion and serious illnesses such as those developed by entities such as UP2U Project, Karuna, Red Cross, the Spanish Association against Cancer or the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients, among others.

The plenary session also unanimously approved the amendment to Annex 6 of the Ordinance regulating subsidies from this City Council for the festival committees that organise popular festivals in the neighbourhoods and towns of the municipality, and a motion presented by the socialist group to encourage the use of lift-up beds in the tourist accommodation sector.
