A hit-and-run on the GC-1, near El Doctoral, left three people injured this Thursday morning. A worker suffered moderate trauma when a vehicle ran over him and then crashed into a road maintenance unit.
A hit-and-run on the GC-1 road, near the entrance to El Doctoral, has left three people injured on Thursday morning. The accident occurred at 10:12 a.m., when a vehicle ran over a road worker and subsequently collided with a Road Maintenance Service unit.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assisted those affected at the scene of the accident:
A 30-year-old man (worker): suffered several moderate injuries and was transferred in a medically equipped ambulance to the Dr. Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria. A 30-year-old woman: presented mild neck pain and was evacuated in a basic life support ambulance to the Roca Clinic. The second 60-year-old woman: suffered an anxiety attack and refused to be transferred to a health centre.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 activated the necessary resources to deal with the emergency. The following people intervened in the area: Three SUC ambulances: one medical, one sanitized and one basic life support. Civil Guard: in charge of preparing the report and regulating traffic in the area.
Authorities have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident. Traffic on the GC-1 was temporarily affected by the presence of emergency teams.
