The detainee, a Swedish national born in Bosnia Herzegovina, was wanted for a crime of illegal possession of weapons
The Swedish authorities issued a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) last August 2024.
The National Police in San Bartolomé de Tirajana have arrested a man of Swedish nationality born in Bosnia Herzegovina, who was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant and Extradition Order (EAW) issued by the Swedish authorities, for the crime of illegal possession of weapons, punishable by a prison sentence of 7 years.
The investigation began last August 2024, after receiving the communication from the Fugitive Group of the General Commissariat of Judicial Police, of the (OEDE) issued by the Swedish authorities.
Following a lengthy investigation, the police operation managed to locate, identify and arrest the wanted man on 15 January in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, who had adopted a false identity.
Once the police investigation was completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, who carried out the necessary procedures to transfer the detainee to the requesting authorities.
