For the fourth consecutive year, the SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain has collaborated with the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association through the sale of the charity calendar in its stores. Thanks to the commitment of the customers who have purchased them, the chain has been able to give the organization the entire amount raised from the sale of 2.636 calendars. Thus, the 13.180 euros obtained from the sale of the calendars will be entirely allocated to the development of the activities and projects that the Association dedicates to the more than 120 families it assists in the province of Las Palmas.
Representatives of the supermarket chain, including its president, Ángel Medina, and its general manager, Dunia Pérez, presented the cheque for the amount raised to the manager of the Association, Ángel Sosa, accompanied by Javier Brehcist, one of the protagonists of the 2025 calendar, at SPAR Las Majoreras, the supermarket that managed to sell the most calendars during this campaign, with more than 300 units sold. The teams from SPAR Las Majoreras and SPAR Ojos de Garza, the second store that sold the most calendars with 156 units sold, wanted to make an additional contribution, donating 600 euros to the association.
Firmly aligned with its corporate social responsibility policy, SPAR Gran Canaria has once again collaborated with this solidarity initiative, once again exceeding the sales target of more than 2.000 calendars, and increasing the number of calendars sold by 28% compared to the previous campaign. The Canarian supermarket chain will soon renew its commitment to the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association, signing for the sixth consecutive year the agreement between both entities, which will once again include collaboration for the sale of the entity's solidarity calendar in SPAR supermarkets in Gran Canaria at the end of 2025.
