This Friday, in an emotional event held in Las Palmas, Coalición Canaria (CC) paid tribute to historic leaders of the island, including Luis Vega. The event, organized by Alejandro Marichal's team, highlighted the pride and unity of the party in the Tirajana area.
Luis Vega, in his speech, recalled the challenges faced by CC after the creation of Nueva Canarias in 2003, mentioning how the party was rebuilt in the south of the island from its foundations. "I feel proud of having stayed where I had to stay," said Vega, underlining his loyalty and commitment to the nationalist party.
The tribute also served as a platform to reflect on the future of Canarian nationalism. Vega expressed his hope that, in the future, a nationalist unity would be achieved that would allow the Canary Islands to have a solid representation in the Spanish Parliament. "The big bosses in Madrid divided us," he lamented, emphasizing the importance of overcoming internal divisions to strengthen the voice of the Canary Islands at the national level.
The event concluded with a call for cohesion and joint work to achieve the common objectives of Canarian nationalism, reaffirming CC's commitment to the values and aspirations of the islands.
