The National Police puts an end to social unrest and perceived citizen insecurity, as a result of the increase in drug sales in Tunte
The police operation resulted in one arrest and the seizure of 96,21 grams of cocaine, 822,4 grams of hashish, 37,4 grams of marijuana, 2.625 euros in cash and elements for the preparation and dosing of narcotic substances.
The collaboration of citizens who alerted the authorities was key for the agents to eradicate the drug sales point
National Police officers from the Maspalomas police station have arrested a 59-year-old man with a criminal record in the town of Tunte for drug trafficking.
The police investigation began after the officers received several complaints from residents of the town of Tunte, in which they expressed the insecurity they felt when observing the constant movement of people who went to the home of the detainee to acquire narcotic substances.
The movement of people accessing the aforementioned housing was such that the residents of the town of Tunte even called for a demonstration motivated by the serious insecurity that was emerging in the streets of their municipal centre as a result of drug dealing among its inhabitants.
The police operation carried out by the agents was a success and ended with the search of the home of the arrested person, where the following were seized:
96,21 grams of cocaine, 822,4 grams of hashish, 37,4 grams of marijuana, 2.625 euros in cash and elements for the preparation and dosing of narcotic substances.
With this arrest, the National Police managed to dismantle the drug sales point, and restore peace to the residents of Tunte.
Once the police investigation was completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his release on bail.
