The Local Security Board of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council met this Friday to coordinate the work of the Local Police and the Civil Guard during the Christmas campaign
The Local Security Board of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council met this Friday to coordinate the work of the Local Police and the Civil Guard during the Christmas campaign, from December 9 to January 10. The mayor, Francisco García, had called this meeting ten days ago to convey to the state security forces the Christmas Security Plan of the Local Police, which has been prepared after listening to the demands of the representatives of the commercial and hotel sector of the municipality.
At the end of the meeting, the first mayor highlighted that "in the plan we establish the different security measures and areas of action in which the Local Police will work, we wanted to share this plan with the Civil Guard to jointly coordinate the job". García took advantage of the meeting to inform the Civil Guard commanders of the different conversations and requests that "I have made to the captain of the Neighborhood Civil Guard and to the Government delegate himself at the meeting last Wednesday, in which I asked him an increase in personnel in the municipality.”
The mayor reported that "the Civil Guard's commitment is to reinforce with cash during these dates, not only on the days initially established, the entire length of Canarias Avenue, not just the pedestrian zone." García added that the representatives of the Civil Guard appreciated the City Council's call and also the work environment and the conclusions drawn in this regard.
Next January the mayor will call a new meeting to take stock of the Christmas campaign. Francisco García announced that “this government group, and this mayor personally, will not stop carrying out all the actions that are necessary so that the Civil Guard post in the Neighborhood is provided with sufficient resources.”
