Injured woman rescued by helicopter in a difficult-to-access area in Mogán

A 22-year-old woman was rescued this Saturday by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) after suffering a fall on a path between Tasartico and Güigüí beach, between the municipality of Mogán and La Aldea. The hiker had a moderate fracture and was evacuated to the Berriel aerodrome, where a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) transferred her to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert at 17:52, reporting that the victim could not continue the route due to her injuries and the difficult terrain. Given the inaccessibility of the area for land resources, 1-1-2 immediately activated the rescue services.

Rescuers from the GES helicopter located the young woman and provided her with first aid on the spot before proceeding to her air evacuation. The SUC was then responsible for her transfer to the hospital.

The Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government participated in this operation, with a rescue helicopter, and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), which mobilized a basic life support ambulance.
