The 14th edition of the Gran Canaria Primavera Sur Craft Fair will return next March to the area surrounding the Maspalomas Lighthouse. More than 70 craft professionals from 15 municipalities on the island will meet from 7 to 16 March to give visibility to 22 trades, 3 of them traditional.
From 10:00 to 20:00, the island's craft professionals will have the opportunity to market their products, while giving visibility and highlighting their trades and their good work to an ever-faithful local consumer, but also to tourists who enjoy Gran Canaria, especially in the southern area.
The Gran Canaria Primavera Sur Craft Fair is thus presented as an ideal showcase in which innovation and tradition come together to show quality artisan work produced in many corners of Gran Canaria.
Woodturning, leatherwork and toymaking professionals will once again share space with jewellery and soapmaking artisans, among many other crafts. The trade with the most representation at this edition of the fair is leatherwork, with 13 artisans willing to show their products, followed by jewellery and macramé, with eight, and fabric decoration, with six.
Also represented will be almazuelas, traditional carpentry, ceramics, candle making, pírgano basketry, fabric decoration, felt and crochet, blacksmithing, forging and locksmithing, printing and engraving, miniatures and works related to fashion, doll making, paper and cardboard, cigars, recycling of materials and glasswork.
As for their origin, the artisans participating in this 14th edition of the fair come from 15 of the 21 municipalities of the island, with the capital of Gran Canaria being the most represented, with 30 professionals, followed by Agüimes, with eight, and Telde, with seven.
