An 83-year-old man of Norwegian origin has been seriously injured after suffering a fall of approximately six metres at the back of a hotel complex in San Agustín, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The victim was rescued by firefighters and transferred by medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
At 17:34, the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 received an alert about the incident, immediately activating the emergency resources. Firefighters from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium rescued the injured man, who had fallen into a canal, and transferred him to the SUC medical ambulance. The medical team stabilised him before evacuating him to the helicopter landing point, which finally took charge of his transfer to the hospital.
