TUI Group held the TUI Global Hotel Awards gala yesterday in Berlin, where it announced its prestigious list of the 100 best hotels of 2025
Carmen Riu received an award in recognition of her career
El Riu Palace Maspalomas and the Riu Gran Canaria make their way into the prestigious list of 100 best hotels of 2025 published by the tourist group TUI Group; a recognition that celebrates excellence in hospitality and highlights establishments with the highest customer satisfaction scores.
To prepare this ranking, the company has evaluated 14.000 hotels, 11 countries y 33 destinations worldwide, selecting only 100, with the ratings of more than 20 million customers of the tourist group that highlights these hotels as the best in terms of hospitality.
Spain is represented with 25 hotels in the TUI Global Hotel Awards, including destinations on the peninsula, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Among the distinguished ones are the Riu Palace Maspalomas hotel and the Riu Gran Canaria hotel, of the chain RIU Hotels, both recognized for their commitment to quality and customer experience. The latter was also awarded in the category Best Large Hotel.
TUI Group, within the framework of the celebration of the TUI Global Hotel Awards 2025 held yesterday in Berlin, has also awarded the professional career of Carmen Riu of whom its CEO Sebastian Ebel He has been highlighted “for being a pioneering personality in the tourism industry and key in its transformation in recent decades.” Carmen Riu received the award for TUI Lifetime Achievement Award in an emotional event accompanied by her husband, Pep Tortella, and her son, executive director of RIU, Joan Trian Riu.
