The birth of BNI in Maspalomas this March 2025, under the direction of Rubi Muller, represents a significant milestone for the German-speaking business community in the south of Gran Canaria. BNI (Business Network International) is a global networking organization that facilitates the generation of business referrals among its members, promoting business growth and collaboration.
The initiative to establish a BNI chapter in Maspalomas is in response to the growing presence of German-speaking investors and entrepreneurs in the region. Gran Canaria has seen a significant increase in the arrival of German tourists, reaching 819.660 visitors in 2023, which is an increase compared to the 720.959 in 2022. This tourist flow has created a favourable environment for investment and entrepreneurship, especially in sectors related to tourism, hospitality and services.
The creation of BNI in Maspalomas offers German-speaking entrepreneurs a structured platform to establish business connections, share knowledge and access opportunities in the local market. BNI's methodology is based on the principle of "Givers Gain", fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support among its members.
The importance of this initiative lies in its ability to attract capital and entrepreneurs with interests in the south of Gran Canaria. The island has positioned itself as one of the ten main entrepreneurial ecosystems in Spain, ranking sixth according to the StartupBlink ranking. This position highlights the competitive advantages of Gran Canaria, such as its strategic location, tax incentives and quality of life, factors that are attractive to international investors and entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, BNI's presence in the region has proven to be a significant economic driver. Since March 2020, 482 Canarian entrepreneurs have generated more than 14 million euros in revenue thanks to the opportunities generated through BNI. This success reflects the organisation's potential to boost business development and the local economy.
Bubi Muller's leadership at the head of BNI Maspalomas brings a strategic vision geared towards the specific needs of the German-speaking market. His leadership facilitates the integration of German, Austrian and Swiss entrepreneurs into the local business community, promoting diversity and cultural exchange in the business fabric of southern Gran Canaria.
