The Civil Guard has arrested three young men accused of violent robbery against a foreign citizen
The victim had her bag with money, bank cards and a mobile phone stolen after being attacked
On February 12, 2025, the Civil Guard's Central Operations Service received a call for help alerting about a robbery with violence in Puerto Rico, Mogán. A patrol was immediately sent to the scene, where the victim, visibly affected, reported the theft of her bag. Inside she was carrying a wallet with 90 euros, several bank cards and a high-end mobile phone.
Given the recurrence of this type of crime in the area, the agents began an exhaustive investigation. Thanks to the collaboration of witnesses and the analysis of security recordings, a detailed description of the alleged perpetrators was obtained. In coordination with the Mogán Local Police, one of the suspects was identified, who was found to have some of the stolen objects during a search. As a result, he was immediately arrested for an alleged crime of robbery with violence.
The agents subsequently carried out a search of the area, locating the rest of the stolen goods. However, the whereabouts of the other two suspects remained unknown. Hours later, a Civil Guard agent who had participated in the first arrest identified two individuals at a bus stop in Puerto Rico. Both matched the description of the suspects and were about to board a bus bound for Las Palmas.
The off-duty officer acted immediately and, after identifying himself, managed to intercept them before they could flee. Thanks to the rapid support of a patrol from the Main Post, the two suspects were arrested on the spot, thus completing the dismantling of the criminal group.
The coordinated action of the Civil Guard of Puerto Rico-Mogán and the Local Police of Mogán allowed the robbery to be solved and security to be guaranteed in the area. The quick response of the agents was key to the identification and arrest of the three people involved.
The detainees, along with the prepared report, were made available to the Court of Instruction on Duty in Maspalomas.
