At a gala evening in Berlin, TUI announced the winners of the Global Hotel Awards 2025, awarding the best hotels according to customer ratings. In this edition, TUI France customers recognised Club Lookea Maspalomas, owned by HIP Partners (Blackstone), a financial group headed by Alejandro Hernández Puertolas, as the best hotel in its category.
This recognition reflects the high level of satisfaction of guests, who, through their comments, have positioned the establishment as a benchmark of quality in Maspalomas, the economic capital of the Canary Islands.
During the ceremony, Sebastian Ebel, CEO of TUI, highlighted the key role of hotels with personality within the tourism industry. “We need these flagship projects,” he said, highlighting that the group has 14.000 direct contracts with hoteliers around the world, of which 8.700 are in Europe.
While TUI has 430 hotels of its own spread across twelve brands, the Global Hotel Awards also seek to recognise the excellence of its external hotel partners. “This award is the result of our customers’ choice based on their feedback,” explained Ebel.
An award based on customer experience
The TUI Awards not only highlight the hotels' infrastructure and services, but are based on the direct experience of guests. Between 25 and 30% of TUI tourists participate in the evaluation process after their stay, ensuring that the award winners are truly the public's favourites.
On the international stage, the award for the best hotel in the world once again went to the Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel & Suites, which has retained this title for the fourth consecutive year. Carmen Riu also received special recognition for its contribution to the hotel industry.
The award given to Club Lookea Maspalomas reaffirms the attractiveness of Gran Canaria as a top-class tourist destination and highlights the ability of Spanish hotels to offer memorable experiences to visitors.
