The first works carried out have focused on earth movement and improving the drainage pipe system.
The next phase of the project will focus on foundation work, concreting and the installation of rockery in different areas of the Palm Oasis.
The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium, an entity owned by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Council, has carried out a technical visit to supervise the status of the Palm Oasis project.
The manager of the administrative entity, together with the manager of the Tragsa Group, have visited the works. During the visit, they have toured the 90.000 square meters of the work area, inspecting each area to ensure that the progress meets the quality and conservation standards detailed in the technical report.
The Oasis Palmeral is one of the key initiatives promoted by the Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium for the coming years and the aim of the project is to promote the development of outdoor recreational areas, providing green and recreational spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
During these first months of work, several actions with low visual impact have been carried out, including earth moving and various tests related to the cleaning and pruning of palm trees. These preliminary tasks have focused on preparing the areas where the future paths will be located, both the larger and smaller ones.
Next phases
The works at the Oasis Palmeral will continue with interventions scheduled for the following phases of the project. These phases will include concrete work, foundations and the installation of rockery in different areas of the oasis, to continue with the program that will recover the environment, turning it into a bio-healthy space.
Each stage of the project will be executed with a focus on sustainability and environmental conservation, ensuring that the Palm Oasis becomes an example of responsible and harmonious development with nature.
