Unstable week in the south of Gran Canaria: rain, wind and waves in the coming days

 

According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the week from 10 to 16 March will be marked by instability in the Canary Islands, with rainfall and the possibility of occasional storms affecting most of the archipelago. In the south of Gran Canaria, light to moderate rain is expected, especially on the northern slopes and mountain areas.

 

Temperatures will remain mild, with minimum temperatures around 12 °C and maximum temperatures that could reach 19 °C. The wind will blow from the northwest, with moderate speeds and stronger gusts in high and exposed areas.

 

 

 

As for the sea state, rough to strong seas are expected, with areas of rough seas in the channel between the islands at the beginning of the week. The northwesterly swell will range between 3 and 4 metres, increasing to 4-5 metres in the north of Tenerife.

 

In Maspalomas, temperatures will range between 13 and 20°C, with partly cloudy skies and intermittent rain throughout the week. The wind will blow from the northwest with moderate gusts, especially on the coast. In the area of ​​the Maspalomas Lighthouse, the sea will be rough, with waves of up to 3 meters, increasing at certain times.

 

In the southeast of Gran Canaria, minimum temperatures will be around 12°C, while maximum temperatures will not exceed 18°C. Light to moderate rain is expected, with a greater incidence in the highlands. The wind will be stronger in this area, with gusts that could exceed 40 km/h, especially affecting sections of road in mountainous areas.
