The Councillor for Economic Development, Minerva Alonso, stressed the importance of this type of initiative: “The Km0 Fair is an opportunity to make visible the efforts of those who work our land and are committed to a sustainable economic model. From the Cabildo we will continue to promote the consumption of local products and the development of the primary sector,” she said.
With this edition, the Fair returns to the south of the Island, where in addition to bringing local products closer to the resident population, it serves as a showcase for visitors who are in Gran Canaria. San Bartolomé de Tirajana has a prominent representation with producers such as Quesos La Chalupa, Quesos La Gloria, Quesería Artesanal Draguillo, Helados Pauleta Canaria, Panadería Pastelería Edelhof, Bodega Las Tirajanas and Cafetales Maspalomas, among others.
In addition to the agri-food offering, the Fair has a parallel cultural programme in which groups from the municipality participate, with the aim of enriching the experience of the attendees.
The Km0 Gran Canaria - Maspalomas Fair is made possible thanks to the collaboration of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Council, the Department of Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Turismo de Gran Canaria, Cajasiete and Gran Canaria Mosaico, and its objectives include boosting the local economy, promoting sustainable habits and supporting producers who contribute to preserving the landscape and gastronomic tradition of the island.
