A fire broke out this afternoon in the Soria neighbourhood, in the municipality of Mogán, which completely burned down a caravan and affected a nearby stubble field. The fire, which caused the explosion of two gas cylinders, caused great alarm in the area, mobilising the emergency services.
The quick intervention of the neighbours was key to containing the spread of the flames. With the means available, they tried to control the fire in the nearby areas until the arrival of the emergency personnel, thus avoiding further damage.
The Gran Canaria Firefighters Consortium, based in Puerto Rico Park, managed to extinguish the fire, while the Local Police and Civil Protection of Mogán collaborated in security tasks and perimeter control.
