A man lost his life this morning after his vehicle plunged into a ravine in the Oronado area, in the Barranco de Guayadeque, within the municipality of Ingenio. The incident occurred at 08:37 hours and mobilized a large emergency team.
The Local Police of Ingenio alerted the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the discovery of the crashed vehicle at the bottom of the ravine, at a depth of about 30 metres, with a person inside. The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) sent a medicalised ambulance and another one with basic life support, whose staff confirmed the death of the affected person at the scene of the incident.
The Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium carried out the rescue work to free the body from inside the vehicle. The Civil Guard, for its part, took charge of the judicial proceedings.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) participated in the operation, with a medicalized ambulance and another one with basic life support; the Local Police of Ingenio; the Emergency Consortium of Gran Canaria; Civil Protection; and the Civil Guard, in charge of investigating the incident.
