The important sports-health agreement for elite athletes was officially presented today at the Gran Canaria Arena Sports Headquarters. The event was attended by the Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Mr. Aridany Romero; the General Director of San Roque University Hospitals, Mr. Sebastián Sansó Marrero; and the President of the Elite Clubs Association, Mr. Antonio Moreno González.
The Gran Canaria Elite Clubs Association and San Roque University Hospitals have joined forces since last July for the next three seasons (2024/2025 – 2025/2026 and 2026/2027). Both leading entities in their sector have signed an agreement under which the healthcare group will ensure the health of elite athletes.

The nine first division teams that make up the Elite Club (Club Deportivo Balonmano Remudas Isla de Gran Canaria -Rocasa, Club Voleibol Jav Olímpico -Hidramar, Club Hockey Molina Sport, Agrupación Deportiva Minusválidos Econy Gran Canaria, Unión Deportiva Taburiente, Club Voleibol Guaguas, Club Voleibol Sayre Mayser, Club Deportivo Voleibol San Roque, Club Deportivo Teldeportivo), approximately 170 athletes, underwent pre-season sports check-ups at HUSR and are being attended to during the season for all their health needs.
