The main headquarters and Tourist Information Point (TIP) located at 93 Calle Mayor de Triana, headed by Councilor Carlos Álamo, opened its doors to welcome a group of secondary school students who are part of the international educational programs organized by the San Fernando Institute (ISF) in Maspalomas. Their visit to the island is part of their training activities.

The group, made up of 15 students, was accompanied by their teachers Francesca Mauramati and Salvatore Paparo, as well as Lorena Quirós, coordinator of the San Fernando Institute. During the reception, Gran Canaria Tourism technical staff presented the island's main attractions and its tourism offerings, using tools and information available at tourist offices designed to inspire visitors to explore the destination's attractions. They also explained how tourism has been a key driver of Gran Canaria's economic development for more than seven decades.

Sergio Maccanti, Technical Manager of MICE at the Gran Canaria Convention Bureau, highlighted the reasons that make Gran Canaria a prime destination for congresses, conventions, and business events. He emphasized the excellence of local businesses and specialized services, ranging from modern accommodations to providers offering unique experiences. He also emphasized the destination's commitment to sustainability. He also highlighted the positive impact the MICE industry has on the island's economy, highlighting not only the increase in overnight stays but also the revitalization of various productive sectors thanks to collaboration with local providers. This segment also promotes the use of unique venues that integrate quality services and exceptional environments.

On the other hand, Nieves Ramírez, head of the Tourist Information Unit, described how her department operates and how the network of offices is structured, highlighting the effective coordination with the island municipalities. Ramírez praised the strategic work of the more than thirty tourist offices operating in Gran Canaria, with a team of 45 information staff who assist visitors throughout all stages of their trip, strengthening the destination's competitiveness.
The open days, organized jointly by the Digital Communication and Tourist Information Units, aim to showcase the work carried out by Gran Canaria Tourism to the community. These activities seek to educate the public, especially young people, about the importance of the tourism sector as an economic and social pillar.
