The National Police in Maspalomas have arrested five men as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime.
Police officers learned of the incident through several reports filed at the police station. They also received complaints from residents and users of a well-known shopping center in Playa del Inglés, who expressed their displeasure with several cannabis associations that encouraged the trafficking of people who went to these associations to purchase narcotics, specifically marijuana and hashish.
The investigation focused on two cannabis associations that, for profit, sold narcotics to numerous customers for later consumption in public spaces.
As a result of the arduous police investigation, following a court order, raids and searches were carried out at the two establishments used by the associations, resulting in the arrest of five people and the seizure of a total of 2.294 grams of marijuana, 1.215 grams of hashish, 1.500 euros in cash, two precision scales, and equipment for the preparation and dosage of narcotic substances.
Once the police investigation was completed, the arrested individuals were handed over to the competent judicial authority.
